Bonita “Bonnie” Beth Jinkens Underwood

 

  Bonita “Bonnie” Beth (Jinkens) Underwood, 70, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away on April 19, 2026.

     Bonnie was born on October 12, 1955, in Keokuk, the daughter of Robert E. and Aileen L. (McNally) Jinkens.

      Bonnie had fond memories of living in Oakland, CA and attending Piedmont Avenue Elementary School before her family moved to Keokuk.

     Bonnie attended Keokuk High School, obtaining her General Education Degree, and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Southeastern Community College. She continued her education at the University of Iowa before graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University.

     On March 30, 1985, Bonnie was united in marriage to Steve Underwood in Keokuk. He survives.

     Over the years, Bonnie held a variety of roles. She was employed by several area businesses. She served as a board member and chairperson on the City of Keokuk Human Relations Committee. She was a former member of the Lee County Democratic Central Committee. In 2003, she became a certified substitute teacher and greatly enjoyed her time in the classroom. Above all, Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted much of her life to caring for her family. She was a constant source of guidance, comfort, and love.

     Bonnie had a deep love for nature and gardening. Her home was surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees, and she found joy in photographing nature and sharing its beauty with others. Bonnie had a strong appreciation for music and singing was a source of joy for her. She attended many concerts over the years, even getting the chance to meet a few big name artists. She also loved cooking and always had new recipes to try.

      Her presence, humor, smile, and support will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

      She is survived by her four children, Nick Oren of Fallbrook, CA, Jeff Underwood of Keokuk, Brandon Underwood (Amy) of Ankeny, IA, and Lyndsey Brady (Jon) of Shawnee, KS; seven grandsons, Tyler, Alex, Andrew, Camden and Brecken Underwood and Asher and Ethan Oren; and her siblings Karen Hickey (Mike), Brenda Coursey (Steve), Dennis Jinkens, Cyndy Ames (Roy), and Julie McNitt (Tim); Parents-in-law, Dale and Mary Ann Underwood of Keokuk, and numerous nieces and nephews.

      She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jerry Jinkens.

      A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Keokuk, IA with Pastor David Turner officiating. A procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 10:45 a.m.

      Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2026 at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with the family meeting with friends at that time.

Cathy C. Bostic

 

Cathy Christine Bostic, 75, of Keokuk, IA died suddenly Friday, April 24, 2026 at her home.

     Cathy was born on October 13, 1950 in Macomb, IL. The daughter of Calvin and Shirley Stump Friday.

     She had been employed at Methode in Carthage, Illinois until it closed.

     Cathy is survived by two daughters, Wendy Crenshaw of Keokuk and Amy Walker (Dee) of Plymouth, IL, two sons, Jason Bostic (Valerie) of Augusta, IL and Chad Bostic (Caitlin) of Plymouth, IL. One sister, Brenda Toland (Ed) of Industry, IL, thirteen grandchildren, Brittany Walker (Andy), Marissa Deeter (CJ), Jesse Walker, Derrick Bostic (Rachel), Hunter Crenshaw (Alexis), Cheyenne Crenshaw, Reed Bostic (Dayna), Dante Martin (Chloe), Aspyn Bostic (Devon), Nyasia Martin, Tony Sprinkle, Griffin Schoonover, Nora Bostic and several great grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Dennis Friday and one grandson, Dylan Walker.

     According to her wishes there will be no services or visitation.

Jerlyn Bowman Lindsay

 

 Jerlyn K. Bowman Lindsay, 72, of Keokuk, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison, Iowa.

     She was born September 25, 1953, in Aurora, Missouri, the daughter of Jerl and Doris (Fishback) Bowman. Jerlyn attended Canton High School in Canton, Missouri, and graduated with the Class of 1971.

     She was united in marriage to William “Jim” Lindsay in 1971; they later divorced.

     Jerlyn worked at Pamida, Jack’s, Shopko, Hy-Vee, and Casey’s throughout her career. She had a great love for flowers and possessed a vast knowledge of planting and growing them. She also enjoyed photography and framing her pictures, going shopping, and watching the news. Jerlyn dearly loved her fur baby, Lucy, and missed her deeply. Though a private person, she cherished time spent with her family.

     She was a loving mother and grandmother.

     Survivors include her son, Jeron (Elisha) Lindsay; her grandsons, Ryan and Blake Lindsay; and several cousins.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Harry Higgins; and two brothers, James Franklin Bowman and Jerry William Bowman.

     Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Keokuk.

     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Every Step across Iowa fundraiser or PAW Animal Shelter.

Liglia Naylor

Liglia Naylor, 75, of Carthage, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Blessing Hospital
in Quincy.
Liglia was born June 1, 1950, in Liege, Belgium, the daughter of Paolo and Angelina
Picchietti. After high school she went on to receive her bachelor's degree from the
University of Illinois-Chicago. As a young woman, she loved walking in Chicago and
visiting bookstores and libraries. She retained that passion for reading her entire life.
She met her future husband, Samuel Naylor VI, while picking up her father at the
Chicago Chess Club one late afternoon after a day of shopping with her mother; and
they were united in marriage on June 14, 1975, and moved to their home in Carthage.
Her most cherished and fulfilling role in life and marriage was being a mother to her two
sons, Sam and John. She loved baking and cooking for her family. She also loved her
pets, which included dogs and cats at various times in her life. She enjoyed gardening,
swimming, nature, and watching old Westerns.
Liglia is survived by her husband, Samuel VI, of Carthage; her sons, Sam (Renee)
Naylor of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and John (Carol) Naylor of Ft. Worth, Texas;
granddaughters, Eleanor and Clara Naylor; a sister, Patricia (Patrick) Kelly of Wisconsin
Dells, Wisconsin; and also many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 27, 2026, at Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday evening at Printy Funeral

Linda Susan Dittmer

Sept. 16, 1949 – April 18, 2026

Linda Susan Dittmer, 76, of Basco, died Saturday, April 18, at River Hills Nursing
Home in Keokuk, Iowa.
Linda was born Sept. 16, 1949, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Thomas and
Katherine Zmud Gibbs. She attended Detroit schools, and earned an associate
degree in biology from Wayne State University in Detroit. The family moved to
Florida in 1973. She worked as a technician at Radiation Incorporated in
Melbourne, Fla.
She married Larry Dittmer of Carthage, on Dec. 12, 1975, in Melbourne. They
moved to Basco in 1997. They celebrated their 50 th wedding anniversary in
December.
The couple enjoyed traveling, scuba diving and spending time with their girls in
Colorado and Texas. Linda was proud to have earned her small airplane pilot
license and was a member of the 99s Club of Women Pilots in Florida.
Linda was a long time member of the Basco Walkers. She loved working at the
log cabin at Western Illinois Threshers and helped with school field trips and
tours during the annual show. She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and was a
gifted piano player.
Linda is survived by her husband, Larry; two daughters, Gretchen of San
Antonio, Texas, and Rebecca of Lakewood, Colo.; and one granddaughter,
Cameron. Also a cousin Tommy (Treva) Gibbs of Harrisburg, IL., and her
brothers and sisters-in-law, Alice Sundberg, Elaine and Bob Smith, Joy
Swearingen, and Dan and Becky Dittmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers-in-law, Ken
Sundberg, and Walt Swearingen.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., on Friday, April 24, at Printy Funeral Home in
Carthage. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. before the service. Burial will follow
at Moss Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Hancock County Fights Cancer or Concordia
Lutheran Church of Warsaw.

Wayne Boltz

 

 George Wayne Boltz, 98, of Keokuk died Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, IA

     Wayne Boltz was born in Ewing, Missouri, on January 25th, 1928. He was the son of Oval D. Boltz and Cena M. Boltz. In 1939, he moved to Keokuk, Iowa, where he graduated from Keokuk Senior High School in 1945.

     He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until 1947 aboard the USS North Carolina.

     After his honorable service in the Navy, Wayne built a long career at Sheller Globe, where he worked for 44 years.

     In 1949, Wayne married Maxine R. Davis, beginning a new chapter of his life. From this union, they had two sons, Ronald (Bonnie) Boltz of Lancaster, MO, and David (Jennifer) Boltz of Dallas, TX. Maxine passed away in 1969.

     Wayne later married Dalene Grabau Kettering in 1970. Wayne became a Father to Susan (Dennis) Beckwith of Ankeny, IA; Jim Kettering of Keokuk, IA; Lisa (Rick) Klein of Hiawatha, IA; and Tom (Kristan) Kettering of Olathe, KS. Dalene passed away in 2021.

     Through these blended families, Wayne was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

     Wayne was also preceded in death by his brothers Roy, John, and Robert Boltz, and two sisters, Donna Clark and Louise Freesmeier, and his grandson, Tucker Ramsay. He is survived by his sister Carol Rose.

     Wayne accepted his savior, Jesus Christ, at an early age during a service at his childhood church in Canton, MO. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Keokuk, IA. He found great comfort in old Hymns such as "Amazing Grace," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "In the Garden."

     Throughout his life, Wayne would always say that his greatest blessings were the family he and Dalene blended, the many loved sons and daughters-in-law, and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

      Wayne enjoyed country music, hunting, fishing, traveling, and playing cards with family and friends. He also cherished meeting his siblings for coffee or a meal whenever they had the chance. At his core, he lived by a simple truth: being honest with yourself and being honest with God.

    Visitation will be held prior to the service from noon to 1p.m., Friday, April 24 at the First Christian Church in Keokuk with funeral services immediately following at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Turner officiating.

     Burial with military rites will be held at the Keokuk National Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Christian Church at 3476 Main Street in Keokuk, IA.

Joey Larson

  Joey Larson, 59 of Keokuk, IA passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026 at his home. 

     He was born February 12, 1967 in Keokuk, IA the son of Larry Larson and Carolyn St. Clair.  Joe graduated from Keokuk High School.

     Joe had been employed by BTR in Keokuk.

     He is survived by his daughter, Meghan Dixon of Flint, MI and three grandchildren, Keghan, Jaleona and Jalea all of Flint MI.  He is also survived by one brother, Chris Larson of Avon Park, Fl and one sister, Arienne St. Clair of Keokuk.

     He was preceded in death by his parents.

     In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

Massud Kayvan

Massud Kayvan, 80, of Hamilton, passed away at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 13, 2026, at his
home.
Massud was born Massud Keyvanshokouhi on December 27, 1945, in Tehran, Iran, the son
of Mo and Saba Keyvanshokouhi. He moved to the United States at eighteen to go to
college. He attended Southeastern Community College in Keokuk where he met his wife,
Diana Monroe. From that union one son was born, Michael. He later married Dauna
Ashworth and from that union a son, Ryan, was born. From another relationship, a
daughter, Brooke Froman, was born. Massud worked in the lab at Hubingers in Keokuk for
a short time and then spent 27 years at Amour-Dial in Fort Madison as a supervisor. 
Mousey was a ladies’ man and loved all sports, especially boxing. He was a soccer goalie
in Iran and served as a YMCA soccer coach, first coaching his son Ryan and later his
granddaughter, Morgan. In his later years, Massud was well known for riding his bike in
Hamilton and mushroom hunting in the surrounding area.
Massud is survived by his two sons, Michael Kayvan of Hamilton and Ryan, wife Bree
Kayvan of Winter Springs, Florida; his daughter, Brooke Froman; four granddaughters,
Morgan, Zoe, Paige (Lori Miller) and Chloe; great granddaughters Sloan, Saige, two sisters,
Nini and Yasi of New Jersey; brother, Saied, of Paris, France, nieces Saba, Sara, and
Sophia. 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton from 12:00 – 1:30 PM Saturday,
April 18, 2026. Private graveside services will be held later. Printy Funeral Home of
Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.

John Herman Spiker

John Herman Spiker, 78, of Argyle, passed away at home.
John was born January 8, 1948, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Charles and
Katherine (Johnson) Spiker. He attended Central Lee High School
graduating in 1967. He had worked for Metzel and Trellex-Morse in
Keokuk for many years. He loved hunting and fishing and was a lifetime
member of the NRA and was a gun rights advocate.
John is survived by his siblings, Lola Frazee, Sylvia (Ed) West, Evonne
(Raymond) Young-Case, and Alfred (Juliene) Spiker; and many nieces,
nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia; and two
brothers-in-law, David Frazee and Donald Young.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at
Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk. Family will meet friends from 5:00 PM
until time of services at 7:00 at Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk. Printy

Lynda J. Carswell-Pugh

 

Lynda J. Carswell-Pugh, 79 of Quincy, IL passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Quincy Healthcare and Senior Living.

     She was born February 7, 1947 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Ernest and Lila Patricia Snyder Steele.   Lynda graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1965 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in English education.

     Lynda had been employed for many years as a teacher in the public school system.

     She enjoyed shooting pool, playing Cribbage, and even competed in cribbage tournaments. She also loved watching birds, spending time by the ocean, and relaxing with her favorite game shows—especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

     She is survived by two sons, Daryal Carswell of Reno, NV and Christopher Carswell of Keokuk, one daughter, Melissa Pugh Reynolds (Andrew) of Pepperell, MA and three grandchildren, Aiden Gynan, Evan Reynolds and Kaylee Reynolds. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patty Lee Thrush.

     Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

Dennis Eugene Whitmer

 

Dennis Eugene Whitmer, 76, of Hamilton, passed away at 5:39 PM,
Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Post Acute Care Center in Macomb.
Dennis was born January 20, 1950, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of John
Walter and Helen Marilyn (Keller) Whitmer. He graduated from Mt. Zion
High School and served a short time in the U.S. Army. Dennis was a kind
and generous man. He had worked as a custodian for several businesses
over the years.
Dennis is survived by his siblings, Carla Jean Walker of Hamilton, Robert
O. (Vicki) Whitmer II of Mt. Zion, and Kevin Whitmer of Long Creek, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Wanita Turley.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 16, 2026, at
Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Linda Elaine Black, 80 of Hamilton Illinois

Linda was born in Basco, Illinois. The 8 th child of Melvin and Darlene (Smith) Faulkner. She gleefully waved “Goodbye” to Carthage High School in 1963. She married Ronald Lee Black on September 16, 1966 in Dallas City, Illinois. Linda wore no uniform but served alongside her soldier. Raising their two Army Brats and traveling around the world, making a home wherever the Army sent them. She is survived by both daughters. Robin Lee (Doug) of Warsaw, IL and Deanna “Nikki” Martin (Jeffrey) of Oakland, TN.

Her greatest joy was being “Gma” to her grandchildren, Shelby Moore (Nate) of Kahoka, MO and Austin Reneau (Brittnee Jarrett) of Hamilton, IL. She also cherished being “GG” to her great grandchildren and never failed to have a stocked candy jar. Ryker Turner, Layton Wilson, and Wrenlee Moore all of Kahoka.
She loved her bonus grandchildren as she did her own. Jeremi Martin, Elliott and Cooper Moore, Camdyn Brown.

Also left to cherish her memory are her siblings. #1 Marilyn Harris of Farr, TX. #2 Janet Faulkner of Carthage, IL. #4 Jim Faulkner of Carthage, IL. #7 Beverly “Kay” Faulkner of Waller, TX. #10 Pam Evans (Larry) of Argyle, IA. #11 Bobbie Hopkins (Arlyn) of Hamilton, IL. As well as scads of nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings. #3 Jean Faulkner, #5 Dick Faulkner, #6 Sandy Welch, #9 Don Faulkner, and #12 Tom “Butch” Faulkner.

I had a richly blessed and highly favored life. The journey was never boring, I took some wrong turns but the Lord forgave me. My ultimate joy is seeing Jesus face-to-face and being welcomed home by those who went before me. I am not truly gone; I am just ahead, waiting to welcome you home.

James Alan Mason

1963-2026

 

     James Alan Mason, 62 of Montrose, IA passed away Saturday April 4, 2026 at his friend’s house in Dallas City, IL.

     He was born May 30, 1963 in Keokuk, IA the son of Charles Erwin and Shirley Joline Weller Mason.  James graduated from Warsaw High School and later from Carl Sandburg College.

     On December 17, 1985 James was united in marriage to Janice Haneline in Keokuk.  She preceded him in death on February 23, 2002.

     James had been employed by Dickey Transport in Packwood, IA as an over the road truck driver.

     A true outdoorsman at heart, James loved spending time in nature. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and pheasant hunting with his dogs. He also had a deep love for rock and roll music and rarely passed up the chance to attend a live concert with Janice.

     He is survived by his daughter, Betsy Mason of Crawfordsville, IA, and one grandson, Sam Mason-Goff.  He is also survived by one brother, Doug Mason (Jaunita) of Elvaston, IL, one sister, Brenda Padgett of Keokuk, two nieces, Katie and Peggy and two nephews, Chris “Spike” Mason (Veronica), and Ray Tripp.

     In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dale, one sister, Sherry and one nephew, David Goodman.

     According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

Timothy Andrew Congdon

Timothy Andrew Congdon, 49, of Macomb, passed away at 5:50 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at his home.
Tim was born November 24, 1976, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Daniel R.
and Mary Anne (Shipplett) Congdon. He graduated from Hamilton High
School in 1994, earned his EMS certification in 1996, and later obtained his
Optometry ABO Certification in 2014. Tim dedicated more than 20 years to
the eyecare profession. On October 28, 2006, he married Amanda Guyton
in Bushnell, Illinois. He was a member of the First Christian Church in
Hamilton.
Tim will be remembered as a fierce and loyal friend to all who knew him.
He had a deep interest in reading and researching all things optical, and he
enjoyed hiking and spending time outdoors whenever he could. He loved
music of all genres and especially cherished time spent with family and
friends.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda, of Macomb; his children, Ross
Congdon of Champaign, Beth Congdon of Quincy, Gavin Congdon of
Keokuk, and Jarid (Jazzmyn) Guyton of Yankton, South Dakota; and his
father, Daniel Congdon of Carthage.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Guyton, and his mother,
Mary Anne Congdon.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, at
Printy Funeral Home in Carthage, with burial to follow at Oakwood
Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time
of service at noon at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to
Illinois Cancer Care, per Tim’s request. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is

Robert D. McVeigh, 67, passed away at 1:15 PM, Sunday, November 23, 2025, at his
home in Carthage, surrounded by his children.

Louise M. Miller, 81, of Elvaston, passed away in her home on Tuesday,
April 7, 2026, at 2:30 AM.
Louise was born November 15, 1944, the daughter of Eugene and Frances
(Corbin) Casey in Kirksville, Missouri. She attended school at East Center
School, a one-room schoolhouse east of Kirksville and graduated from
Kirksville High School. She was united in marriage to Danny Miller in
Carthage on July 11, 1980. Louise enjoyed working in her garden and
caring for her animals.
Louise is survived by her husband, Danny, of Elvaston; children, Danielle,
Joey Russel, Albert Diekmann, Andy (Heather) Miller, Heath (Angela)
Miller, Scott (Anna) Miller and a daughter by choice, Bertha (Doug)
Lockhart; grandchildren, Joe, Cody, Brittney, Kirsten, Kaitlyn, Tommy,
Logan, Ava, Zane, Alex, Kami, Ryliegh, Kynzie, Ethan, Aston and Ayden;
great grandchildren, Eden, Bella, Eleanor and Rose; and three sisters,
Genie, Donna and Pauline, all of the Kirksville area; and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her body was donated to science. Memorials may be directed to a local

Randall Gordon Fleming, 78, of Carthage, passed away at 4:10 PM,
Monday, April 6, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 PM, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Printy
Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery
with military rites. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of
services at 4:30 at the funeral home with family meeting friends from 2:00
to 4:30. A gathering will be held at the Carthage Eagle’s Club immediately
following the committal service. Memorials may be directed to the
Carthage 4 th of July Fireworks fund, H.U.G.S. or the Gift of Life House in
Rochester. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Hubbard, 82, of Carthage, IL, passed away in the early hours on Friday, April 3,
2026, at his home in Carthage.
Robert was born on October 12, 1943, in Macomb, Illinois. He was the son of Dwight
Hubbard and Suella June Sparkman (Carr).
Robert lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for family and country. He
proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 21 years, retiring with the rank of
Master Sergeant on June 30, 1984. A Vietnam War veteran, he also completed tours in
Korea and Thailand. During his distinguished military career, he served as Commander
of the NCO Academy and Officer Training programs in Ramstein, Germany. While
stationed overseas, he embraced European culture—participating in trap and skeet
shooting, joining Volksmarches through the countryside, and traveling extensively as a
passionate student of World War II history.
Following his military retirement, he continued his commitment to excellence as a
Quality Control Manager at Methode Electronics from 1984 until 2005. On June 10,
1963, Robert was united in marriage to Donna Duffy in Carthage, Illinois.
His dedication to service extended well into civilian life. He was instrumental in
establishing the Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) Office for Hancock County,
providing vital support to fellow veterans. He also served as Commander of Carthage
VFW Post #5117 and held leadership roles within the American Legion, where he
remained a respected and active member of the veteran community.
Outside of his service, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a deep love for
motorcycles, NASCAR racing, and vintage Ford Mustangs. He enjoyed music from the
1950s and 1960s and treasured the companionship of his beloved dog, Gracie, who will
miss him dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Hubbard; his children: Kimberly (Dan) Head,
Kelly (Michael) Everett, and Jose (Lynn) Gonzalez. He was a proud grandfather to
Katherine (Mike) Jones, Creston (Ali) Lambert, Zachary (Vicki) Lambert, Michelle (Brian)
Campbell, Michael (Meleiah) Gonzalez, Megan Gonzalez, Shyann (Marshall) Stephen,
and Tori (Dakota) Renfroe, a beloved great-grandfather to 19 great-grandchildren, and
his siblings, Frank (Teri) Sparkman; and his sister, Jeri (Tom) Boos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Shawn Sparkman, Shane
Sparkman, and David Sparkman, and his sister Winona “Cookie” Sparkman.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Printy Funeral
Home in Carthage. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 10am.
Memorials may be made out to H.U.G.S of Hancock County. Printy Funeral Home is
handling arrangements.
